Children’s Corner

Held every Tuesday and Friday, 09:30 – 11:30 am in SSGC premises itself, Children’s Corner is a playgroup for toddlers ranging from 2 to 4 years old, at the same time serves as a support group for full-time mothers.

Given below is the brief outline for each activity:

• (1) Freedom of Choice
• 10:15-10:30
• (2) Circle Time
• 10:30-10:45
• (3) Snacks
• 10:45-11:00
• (4) Playtime
• 11:00-11:30
• (5) Lesson Time/Crafts

(1) Freedom of Choice

- a selection of toys and apparatus are made available to child guided by the mother;

- child to choose one toy/apparatus at one time and to return to shelf vefore choosing another;

- these toys are to encourage living skills, coordination, discrimination, solving puzzles,tec;

(2) Circle Time

- This is a time for music movement and singing for both mother and child;

(3) Snack time

- Chidren sit together to have their snacks

(4) Playtime

- Allow child to play on their own for awhile, to encourage separation between mother and child;

- Mothers to have refreshment and drinks together;

(5) Lesson Time/Craft

- time for stories or thematic lesson followed by craft

- Mother and child to listen and participate.

A minimal fee of RM30 is payable every month.

Please Note:

Due to space constraints and the fact that the Children’s Corner is a playschool cum support group for full-time mothers, we advise against bringing or sending any domestic helpers to the playschool.
